When people mention acrylic sheets, most assume they’re all the same — clear, glossy, durable.
But if you’ve actually worked with them — for displays, signage, furniture, or custom projects — you know it’s more complicated.
There are basically two types: cast acrylic sheets and extruded acrylic sheets. Choosing the right one can change the outcome a lot.

1. The difference, really
Cast acrylic sheets — made by pouring liquid acrylic into molds and letting it slowly set.
Extruded acrylic sheets — made by melting acrylic pellets and forcing them through an extrusion machine.
That process difference changes almost everything about the material.
Cast sheets feel solid, a little “pure” in structure. They have better optical clarity, tighter thickness tolerances, and are easier to polish. Perfect for projects where transparency matters — think thermoforming, engraving, high-end displays. Thickness? From 1.8mm up to 100mm.
Extruded sheets are more uniform in thickness, with strict dimensional control. They suit large-volume production. Thickness usually 0.8mm to 12mm. And because of raw material differences, extruded sheets are more expensive than cast sheets.
In short: if you need high transparency or polishing ease → cast sheet.
If you need thin sheets below 1.8mm or tight thickness control → extruded sheet.
2. Quality isn’t just in the material
At Apexplast Acrylic Sheet Factory, we make both cast and extruded sheets. Years of experience, and we don’t rush. Every batch? Tested for light transmittance, thickness, flatness.
Our production lines mix automated extrusion tech with carefully controlled casting workshops. Result: stable supply, consistent quality, flexible for custom orders.
Some customers using lower-quality suppliers end up with uneven surfaces or yellowing. That’s not something you want.
At Apexplast, we focus on what you see and feel, not what’s written in a catalog.
3. Which one to pick
Need high transparency, smooth surface, easy polishing → cast sheet
Need uniform thickness, precise laser cutting, large-scale production → extruded sheet
Still unsure? Real projects rarely fit neatly into one box. Send us your specs — we’ll guide you to the right solution.
